Would Google approve your product listings?

Missing structured data fields are a leading cause of product disapprovals in Google Merchant Center — and lost star-rating rich snippets in organic search. Scan one of your real product pages, free.

The fields Google Merchant Center and Google Shopping actually require

We automatically find a sample product on your store — no admin access needed — and check its Product JSON-LD structured data against Google's requirements.

Product identity

Brand, and at least one product identifier — a GTIN or an MPN. Google uses these to match your listing to its product catalog; without them, most categories get rejected outright.

Offer completeness

Price and availability. Both are required fields — a Product schema without them can't power Merchant Center listings or rich results at all.

Recommended offer fields

priceValidUntil lets Google auto-refresh your price without a full re-crawl, and shippingDetails lets Google show shipping cost and time directly in results.

Review rich-snippet eligibility

Whether aggregateRating is present — the field that determines if your listing is eligible to show a star rating directly in Google search results.

This isn’t a ranking penalty — it’s a silent rejection

Google can read a store’s Product and Offer structured data directly for automated Merchant Center feed updates and for star-rating badges in organic search. Unlike most on-page SEO issues, gaps here don’t just cost you a few ranking positions — they cause silent product disapprovals in Merchant Center and quietly disqualify you from the rich results your competitors are showing up with.

Because this data usually comes from your theme or a schema app, one broken update can wipe it out storewide without a single error message anywhere in your Shopify admin. Most merchants only discover the gap when a Merchant Center disapproval email finally lands — often weeks after ad spend was already going to waste.

What complete product schema does

Fewer Merchant Center disapprovals

Missing brand or identifier fields are one of the most common reasons Google rejects individual product listings — fixing the schema fixes the rejection.

Eligibility for star-rating rich snippets

A complete aggregateRating field is what unlocks the star rating shown directly under your listing in organic search results.

A checklist before you launch ads

Running this before turning on a Shopping campaign gives you a concrete, field-by-field list to fix instead of guessing why a feed got flagged.

Catches silent breakage

A theme update or a schema app going stale can quietly wipe out structured data storewide. This scan is a fast way to notice before it costs you.

Three steps, about ten seconds

Paste your store URL

Any public storefront works — yourstore.com or the myshopify.com address. No login, no install, no admin access.

We find and scan a sample product

This tool works a little differently from our other scanners: instead of just reading your homepage, it uses your store’s public product catalog endpoint to automatically find one representative product, then reads that product page’s structured data. Still no login or admin access required.

Common questions

How do you pick which product to check?

We use your store's public /products.json endpoint — a standard, public Shopify storefront feature — and check the first product it returns. Treat the result as a representative sample of your product schema, not an audit of every product in your catalog.

What if my store has products.json disabled or a headless/password-protected storefront?

The scan reports that it couldn't find a sample product rather than guessing or failing silently.

I have a GTIN but not an MPN (or vice versa) — is that OK?

Yes. Google requires at least one recognized product identifier, not both. The check only flags you if both a GTIN and an MPN are missing.

Does passing this guarantee Merchant Center approval?

No. This checks structured-data completeness on one sampled product page, not your full catalog and not Google's actual review outcome. It's a strong leading indicator, not a guarantee.
